There were 22 contestants and the prize for the winner was $250,000, their own cookbook and a MasterChef trophy.

Amanda Saab was a Social Worker from Seattle, Washington.
She was eliminated in episode 8 after her triple layer birthday cake landed her in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Amanda opened a bakery called Butter Bear Shop.
She is a food blogger posting recipes at Amanda's Plate.
Amanda organises Dinner With Your Muslim Neighbor dinner parties.
She returned for MasterChef: Back to Win (season 12)
Brianna Watson was a Hairstylist from Worcester, Massachusetts.
She was eliminated in episode 3 after her apple pie landed her in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, she worked for the Seven Hills Foundation.
Brianna planned to open a food truck.
Charlie Chapman was a HVAC Technician from New Orleans, Louisiana.
He was eliminated in episode 8 after his three tier birthday cake left him in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Charlie appears to have returned to his previous career.
Christopher Lu was a Restaurant Manager from Los Angeles, California.
He was eliminated in episode 12 after a gnocchi pressure test landed him in the bottom two.
After MasterChef, Christopher started to work at Freddy Small's Bar and Kitchen in LA.
Christopher is currently a Private Chef.
Claudia Sandoval was an Events Manager from La Mesa, California.
Claudia was the MasterChef season 6 winner due to her three course Mexican meal impressing the judge in the final.
After MasterChef, Claudia released cookbook "Claudia's Cocina: A Taste of Mexico".
She launched catering business Claudia's Cocina and has been a brand ambassador for large brands.
She hosted cookery classes and online cookery classes with other MasterChef winners.
Claudia became a judge on MasterChef Latino.
She opened El Cochi Dorado, a Mexican Bakery in June 2020.
Dan Collado was an Engineer and Model from Lexington, Kentucky.
He left MasterChef in episode 6 for personal reasons.

Darah Carattini was an Amusement Park Guide from Irvine, California.

Derrick Peltz was a Drummer from Fort Myers, Florida.
Derrick was the MasterChef season 6 runner up.
After MasterChef, Derrick got married and took his wifes surname and is now Derrick Fox.
He helped open a restaurant in LA and has done a number of pop up dining events across the USA.
Derrick was in talks for a reality tv show and hosts a podcast.
He has a range of online merchandise and offers private chef services.

Hetal Vasavada was a Startup Developer from Bloomfield, New Jersey.
She was eliminated in episode 16 after a pressure test of cooking the judges favourite pasta dishes.
After MasterChef, Hetal was a Digital Marketing Manager at Humphry Slocombe.
She is also a freelance recipe developer, writer, digital marketer and food photographer.
Hetal is a food blogger at Milk and Cardamom.
In 2019, Hetal released her cook book Milk & Cardamom and did a book tour promoting the release.
In 2020, she opened an online bakery.
Jesse Romero was a Petroleum Landman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He was eliminated in episode 7 after his TV dinner failed to impress the judges and landed him in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Jesse opened Robear Ln, a food both at White Star Market.
He later became Executive Chef at The Gulf restaurant.
Justin Banister was a High School Student from New Caney, Texas.
He was eliminated in episode 5 after his corn dish landed him in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Justin is a chef at Jasper's The Woodlands.
Katrina Kozar was an Administrative Assistant from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was eliminated in episode 17 after landing in the bottom two after an ingredient basket challenge.
After MasterChef, Katrina started private chef company Katrina's Kitchen, offering private dinner parties, cookery events and cooking classes.
She also sold her homemade gourmet mustard that she makes with her neighbour.
Kerry Prince was a Human Resources Rep from Greensboro, North Carolina.
He was eliminated in episode 9 after a Beef Wellington elimination challenge landed him in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Kerry is a private chef who also does catering and consulting.
He wrote book Kerry In The Kitchen Presents: Agrimony to Yucca: Intro To Medicinal Herbs.
Mateo McConnell was a High School Teacher from Atlanta, Georgia.
He was eliminated in episode 3 after his ginger, cardamon and salted caramel apple pie landed him in the bottom two.
After MasterChef, Mateo returned to his previous career as a teacher.
He regularly posts food pics on social media.
Shelly Flash was a Kitchen Assistant from Brooklyn, New York.
She was eliminated in episode 13 after her chicken and waffles landed her in the bottom two.
After MasterChef, Shelly was an Executive Sous Chef in the Upper East Side.
She cooked at James Beard House before becoming a Chef Instructor in Brooklyn.
Shelly is co-owner of Two Girls & a Cookshop, serving Jamaican Tacos and street food in pop up events in New York.

Nick Nappi was a Dishwasher Sales Rep from San Diego, California.
He was eliminated in episode 18 after a chocolate cake cook off with Claudia.
After MasterChef, Nick was Executive Chef at Bar One until March 2018. He is currently a Chef at LOLA 55.
He later launched catering company, On the Fly Catering, where he provides event catering services, private chef services.
Nick sold home made chicken broth.
Nick now runs Nappi Roots with his wife.
Olivia Crouppen was a Fashion Stylist from Thousand Oaks, California.
She was eliminated in episode 14 after a cows head challenge left her in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Olivia initially returned to her previous job role.
She later became a Food stylist and culinary producer.
Olivia is also a holistic Private Chef and was host of a live stream cooking show on nom.com.
Sara Zacek was a Mobile Home Park Manager from Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin.
She was eliminated in episode 10 after her peanut butter and strawberry tart landed her in the bottom three.
After MasterChef, Sara returned to her pie company Harbor Pie Company.
She makes pies to order and provides pies to local businesses.
Stephen Lee was a Urban Gardener from Palm Springs, California.
He was eliminated in episode 19 after a three dish cook off against Claudia.
After MasterChef, Stephen is an Urban Farmer, Private Chef at Food Dept.
He has done a number of guest chef appearances and dining events.

Tommy Walton was a Fashion Designer from Chicago, Illinois.
He was eliminated in episode 15 after a tag team summer platter challenge with Katrina.
After MasterChef, Tommy regularly appears on cookery segments on a local tv station.
He is a teacher, designer and a brand ambassador for Daelmans.

Veronica Cili was a Beauty Consultant from Key West, Florida.
She was eliminated in episode 7 after a TV dinner elimination challenge.
After MasterChef, Veronica still continues to bake but no further info on whether she is baking professionally.
I absolutely Love Love LOVED Tommy!! I didn't figure he'd win, but his personality was so Big and SO Fun, I could just have watched him all season, he needs his own show.
ReplyDeleteAgree!! Hated to see him go and think it was an unfair call too. Also knew Claudia was going to win about mid way through so she'd be first latina and sure enough she did but I think Derrick should've won. He was far more versatile throughout the competition and she basically made one style of food. Mexican. Which, they complained about an Italian contestant doing that in the past so, they def favored her for the win. Saw it coming. :( Wish the show would do more for the top 3!!
